Work Begins On Aqina-Andkhoy Railway

Officials in Ministry of Public works have reported the Aqina-Andkhoi construction rail way work has began, lengthening 58 kilo meter which is funded by Turkmenistan Government and Asian Development Bank ADB.

Turkmenistan will construct 3,5 kilo meter while Asian Development Bank funds the rest of the project financially.

The Afghan Government envoy to middle Asian countries affairs Shakar Kargar said,” One of the importance of the current rail way is that it connects Afghanistan to Caspian sea, Azerbaijan, Gorjestan, Turkey and Black sea then to European countries through Turkmenistan.”

Meanwhile Minister of public works Mahmood Balegh said,” One of our biggest object is to maintain active our main ports, Hairatan, Aqina, Islamqala and Torghundi through the current rail way to foreign countries.”

If we see this big step it will have positive impact over the economy of Afghanistan and the regional countries.

Months ago Afghanistan India-Iran has signed a memorandum of Understanding on opening of the Chabahar port for further growing economy of all three countries.
