A number of Civil Society Activists marched on Monday in front of Afghanistan Supreme Court demanding protection and justice for women victims of rape and other types of violence.

Alema, Chairwoman of Afghan Women’s Political Participation Committee said,” Unfortunately, violence against women has increased this year; we ask the government to pay serious attention to their responsibilities on protecting our civil rights”.

These activists believe that negligence on women violence cases has increased the violations and the justice system must wake up.

We are demanding to stop violence against women and the perpetrators must be trailed,” Sajya Yarmal one of the protestors said.

Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) have registered about 4,250 cases of different types of violence including murder, rapes, beating, compulsory and underage marriages against Afghan women.
