Unidentified Men Blows Up Shrine in Ghazni Province

Unidentified men have blown up a shrine in Ghazni province of Afghanistan on Wednesday night, officials said.

The shrine of Shamsul Arefin (Tomb of Abdul Wahid) which is blown up with Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) is located only four kilometers away from the center of the City.

Provincial governor spokesman Aref Noori confirmed the incident, saying the incident is under investigation.

Local residents condemn the attack and urge the government to protect the shrines and other holy places in the province.

Earlier, unidentified men have destroyed Baha ul Haq shrine in Muqur district as well as Baba Wali shrine in Guzargah Sakhi district of Ghazni province.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
