Turkish scholars, businessmen meet IEA’s deputy PM

Abdul Salam Hanafi, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, met with a delegation from Turkey to discuss investment opportunities in the country.
At the meeting was Umar Farooq Madras Oglu, the head of the Arifan organization in Turkey, as well as a group of scholars and businessmen.
According to a statement, Oglu noted the improved security situation in the country and mentioned Turkey’s interest in investing in Afghanistan’s energy, communication, mining, logistics, and construction sectors.
Hanafi in turn said the IEA had taken measures to facilitate investment in Afghanistan and that the Islamic Emirate welcomes all investors and businessmen to explore opportunities.
He also said the IEA is committed to developing Afghanistan’s infrastructure but wants investor cooperation.
The Acting Minister of Commerce and Industry, Nooruddin Azizi, who also attended the meeting, said there was full transparency involved for investors.
