Traffic accident in Kabul-Mazar highway leaves nearly 50 casualties

Nearly, 50 passengers were killed and injured in a traffic accident in Kabul – Mazar highway in northern Samangan province of Afghanistan on Saturday night.

Police in Samangan province has said that the accident has occurred last night when a 404 bus which was travelling from Mazar-e Sharif to Kabul city crashed with a lorry.

“Four passengers including three children were killed as a result of the incident and the number of causalities may increase,” Abdul Munir Rahimi, provincial police spokesman said.

According to the reports injuries have been transferred to the closest hospitals in Aybak and Mazar-e Sharif for treatment.

Police accuse the driver of the bus for reckless driving.
