Torkham route was opened today morning at 8:00 am for the public and traffic, Afghan officials said.
The border crossing between the two country was closed five days ago after clashes erupted between the Afghan and Pakistani border forces over the installation of fences by Pakistani side.
Mohammad Ayub Hussain Khail the chief of staff for Afghan border police in the east said that only people who have been issued with visas can commute between the two countries at the moment.
“The installation has been stopped by Pakistani forces and the situation is normal”, Hussain Khail added.
After the clashes the Afghan ambassador to Pakistan, Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal wared Pakistan of consequences if the construction work on the gate was not halted.
