Top Afghan security officials, NATO commander arrived in Kunduz

flagSenior Afghan security officials along with the US and Nato commander in Afghanistan arrived in Kunduz province on Tuesday.

Afghan Minister of Defense General Abdullah Habibi, Minister of Interior General Taj Mohammad Jahid, National Security Advisor of the President Hanif Atmar along with the US-led Resolute Support (RS) Mission Commander General John Nicholson are the top Afghan and foreign security officials who are currently in volatile Kunduz province to assess the security condition in the province.

According to the reports the delegation will meet local officials and tribal elders as well to discuss security issues.

Kunduz is among the extremely volatile provinces in north of Afghanistan where the Taliban insurgents were able to seize the control of strategic this province last year for a short period for the first time since 2001.
