At least three people were killed and two others wounded in an attack by unknown armed men in Qarabgh district of Ghazni province, the provincial media office said in a statement on Friday.
According to the statement, the incident has taken place at Chargo area of Qarabagh district on Thursday night.
The militants open fired on a vehicle in Qarabagh, in which three passengers were killed and two more injured, the statement added.
All the victims were civilians, the statement further said.
No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
Meanwhile, the provincial media office accused the Taliban militant of the attack as the incident happened at the group’s controlled area.
However, the Taliban has rejected its involvement in the attack.
Ghazni is among the insecure provinces in central Afghanistan where the Taliban militants are actively operating in a number of its districts including the capital city of the province.
