Taliban Shadow District Governor Killed in Maidan Wardak Operation

The Taliban shadow governor for Nerkh district of central Maidan Wardak province was killed in Afghan special forces operation, the Interior Ministry said in a statement Saturday.

 According to the statement, the operation was conducted by Afghan special police forces on Friday afternoon in Nerkh district of the province.

As stated in the statement, the militant commander named Mullah Bashir who is also known as Mullah Fatu.

The operation also injured two security guards of Mullah Fatu, the statement noted, adding that no harm has been done to civilians and Afghan security forces in the raid.

The Taliban group does not commented regarding the report so far.
