Taliban Take Control of Khan Abad District In Kunduz Province

Khan Abad district governor, Hayatullah Amiri told Ariana News that the district fall to the hand of Taliban militants after three days of heavy clashes.
According to the source the insurgents took the control of the district around 8:30 a.m. this morning after the governmental forces retreated due to the lack of ammunition and reinforcements.
Amiri added, Taliban launched their offensive over the district three days ago, and currently fighting continues between the Afghan forces and Taliban in a part of the city.
Khan Abad is a key district in eastern part of Kunduz. It borders Archi and Ali Abad districts and Takhar province.
