Taliban Seeks to Form Parallel Gov’t

Iqbal Ali, deputy commander of air forces among more than 200 graduated Afghan troops emphasized on Taliban’s defeat.
“Afghan security forces will never allow the Taliban group to form a parallel government and they will never succeed,” Iqbal Ali, deputy commander of air forces said.
The new Taliban movement has created a parallel government structure that includes defense and finance councils and appoints judges and officials in some areas. It offers cash to recruits and presents letters of introduction to local leaders.
The Afghan government is corrupt, ineffective, and does not reach out to the rural areas of Afghanistan. Into this void the Taliban have set up a shadow, parallel government through fear and intimidation but also delivering on basic needs and services that the Kabul regime should be providing.
In the meantime, foreign consultant of air forces has assured that the international community and the donor countries will take practical action to strengthen Afghan forces.
“We fully support Afghan forces and will do anything to strengthen them,” said Gen. Hets, foreign consultant of air forces.
Afghan forces are performing better this year than last year, and are generally on track with their offensive campaign plan and are on a positive trajectory.
