Taliban released one hundred and seven soldiers who have been laid down weapons and surrendered to insurgents on Saturday evening, a local official said.
About 107 ANP soldiers surrendered to Taliban militants after being surrounded in Teergeran area of Warduj district of Badakhshan province for four days.
Taliban have taken their military equipment and released them all, a provincial official said on Sunday.
According to the reports Taliban fighters still control the military base in Teergeran area of Badakhshan.
Badakhshan is among the volatile districts where anti-government armed militant groups are actively operating in a number of its districts since Taliban have launched their spring offensive attacks.
