At least 20 Afghan policemen were killed and 15 others wounded in a Taliban raid in Shah Joy district in southern Zabul province of Afghanistan, officials said on Sunday.
Provincial governor, Besmillah Afghanmal, told Ariana News that a group of Taliban militants ambushed a convoy of Afghan police last mid-night which left 20 policemen dead and 15 others wounded.
He added that 15 Taliban fighters were also killed in the clashes with the Afghan security forces.
According to the source, last night Taliban have fired about 12 missiles over the city as well.
No causalities were reported in the missile attacks.
The Taliban group launched their annual “spring offensive” in late April, vowing to target foreign forces as well as Afghan security forces.
