In a statement released by the Ministry of Defense (MoD) on Thursday said that the Afghan forces resisted against the Taliban after hundreds of the group’s militants launched a coordinated attack over Waygal district of Nursitan on Wednesday night.
The statement claims heavy losses to the Taliban group after the Afghan forces respond through air and ground.
During the clashes, the Afghan airstrikes have killed 45 militants including seven of the groups commanders and injured 50 others, the statement further said.
According to the ministry statement, some weaponry, ammunitions, motorbikes and vehicles belong to the insurgents were also destroyed during the air attacks.
The Taliban group has rejected the report, providing a different number of causalities from both sides.
