The Taliban militants attacked a security outpost in Chimtal district of Balkh province, a local official said on Sunday.
Adil Shah Adil a spokesman for Balkh police told Ariana News that the Taliban insurgents stormed the outpost on Saturday night where at least 7 security personnel were killed.
Adil said that Najib Tokhta-e, a police commander is also among the dead bodies.
He has confirmed that the militant’s casualties feared but added, the troop deployed to the area have pushed back the insurgents.
At the meantime, the Taliban in a statement says that during the clashes at least three soldiers were also wounded.
