Suicide bomber arrested in Paktika

ndsA suicide bomber who wanted to carry out an attack in Urgun district of Pakika province arrested by intelligence officers.

The Afghan intelligence agency prevented a suicide attack during a special operation in Urgon district of Paktika province by arresting the attacker with a vest laden with explosive devices, a statement released by the National Directorate of Security (NDS) on Monday said.

According to the statement, the attacker named Abdul Wali who was also known as Abu Dojana has confessed that he has lived for a period of one month in a Taliban center located in Kohat area of Pakistan and was later transferred to Waziristan for suicide attack trainings.

Pakistani nationals are believed to be widely existed among the Taliban ranks in Afghanistan and are fighting against the Afghan government and its foreign allies and mainly targeting the Afghan army and police forces.

Two years earlier a Taliban suicide bomber killed and injured dozens of people in the holy month of Ramadan in Urgon district of Paktika.

Pakika is among the volatile provinces in southeastern part of Afghanistan bordering Pakistan where militants are using to cross into Afghanistan to perform their insurgency plans.
