Provincial governor officials said that the suicide bomber surrendered to police this afternoon in Mukhtar area in PD5 of Lashkargah City.
According to the officials, the suicide bomber has confessed that Taliban insurgents had forced him to carry out a suicide attack by giving him drugs and making negative propaganda against the government.
In a statement, police said the man was under the protect of Afghan security forces in the province.
The Taliban insurgent group has not made a comment about the report yet.
This comes a week after Afghan forces arrested a would-be suicide bomber in Nad Ali district of Helmand province.
Helmand is among the volatile provinces in south of the country where Taliban insurgents are carrying out huge attacks against security forces that usually leaves high casualties.
