South Korea says it strives to ensure Afghanistan aid is distributed transparently

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea has said that Seoul strives to ensure the transparent and effective implementation of international organizations’ projects conducted with Korea’s contribution.

The ministry said in a statement that South Korea’s special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Lee Kyung-chul, has held a meeting with representatives of international organizations to review humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.

According to the statement, South Korea provided a total of $74 million in humanitarian aid to Afghanistan from 2021 to 2023, and the beneficiaries were women, children, refugeess and displaced persons.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea emphasized that it will continue to provide aid to Afghanistan.
