Provincial police spokesman, Masoud Arshad said the accident occurred this morning when a passenger bus collided with a trailer in Faizabad – Keshum highway.
He added that seven passengers including the driver were lost their lives and thirteen others were wounded.
The injuries were taken to Faizabad hospital and they are in a good health condition, he continued.
This comes as at least 30 Afghans died and 56 others wounded in two separate traffic accidents in western Afghanistan.
Traffic accidents are not unusual in Afghanistan; annually hundreds of people die in traffic accidents on highways across the country – mostly as the result of unpaved roads, high speeds and carelessness while driving.
