Kandahar provincial officials have confirmed that seven people in one family died in a tragic accident on Sunday on the Herat-Kandahar highway.
Officials said the accident happened in the Adraskan district of Herat province when a small sedan and a lorry collided head on.
According to provincial health officials, women and children were among the victims.
The head of Herat Emergency Hospital, Abdul Zahir Noorzai, said that two children, three women and two men were killed. They were all members of the same family.
Officials said the family was reportedly from Shindand in Herat.
