The Selection Committee says works on selecting electoral commissioner nominees will be completed up to the next two days.

“All works are at the final stage and we will complete the evaluations up to the next two days, then the finalized list will be submitted to President Ghani,” said Haroon Rashid, member of Selecting Committee.

Nearly two months passed since the committee started works, but the transparency of the committee is not clear so far.

“We have not seen any major problems in the process so far,” said Muhammad Sharif Omarzai, electoral commissioner nominee.

The electoral nominees claim that they are satisfied and there was no intervention during the process.

“The process is completely transparent and we are trying to have the results that the people want it too,” said Abdul Wahab Rahmani, commissioner nominee.

The Selection Commission formed after months of delay and the submit of a reform package; the package was about the Selecting Committee introduced as an institution for selecting the electoral commissioner nominees.
