Selecting Committee ready to announce new commissioners

A member of the Selecting Committee of Electoral Commissions declared that the committee is technically ready to begin work but waits for the presidential decree.

Naeem Ayoub Zada, member of selecting committee noted that members of electoral commissions will all be dismissed and new commissioners will be introduced.

“We are waiting for Presidential decree to hold the first session and we begin to work,” said Naeem Ayoub Zada, member of the selecting committee.

The previous presidential election was followed with full of crisis and members of electoral commission were severely criticized and even in some cases accused of involving in electoral frauds.

“We are trying to introduce new and impartial commissioners based on defined criteria and mechanisms,” added Ayoub Zada.

Reforms in electoral system was one of the pre-conditions of the National Unity Government agreements.
