Pakistan’s President Arif Alvi says peace in Afghanistan will bring prosperity to the region and open up business opportunities for the world to connect with Central Asian republics.
In an interview with Khaleej Times, during his two-day visit to the UAE, Alvi said Pakistan wants peace in Afghanistan as it will have a positive impact on the country and on the region.
He said Pakistan hopes however to see an inclusive government representing all political stakeholders.
On the US withdrawal, Alvi said it had been a “hasty call”, adding that Pakistan had continuously tried to persuade the US into avoiding war, and focus on negotiations.
