The Afghan National Security Adviser (NSA), Hanif Atmar has held a telephonic conversation with his Pakistani Counterpart, Nasser Khan Janjua, and condoled the death of Pakistani diplomat in Jalalabad city of Nangarhar province.
During the conversation, Atmar expressed deep grief and sorrow over the killing of Pakistani diplomat and said Afghan security officials will undertake a thorough investigation into the murder; adding that once completed, the investigation’s findings will be shared with Pakistan.
Nayyar Iqbal, a staffer of the Pakistani consulate was gunned down by assailants riding a motor bike near his residence in Jalalabad on Monday.
Hanif Atmar assured that the culprits would be brought to justice. He expressed hope that the Afghan officials would soon apprehend the assailants involved in the killing of Pakistani diplomat.
