Muhammad Sarwar Danish, the running mate of Presidential candidate Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, declared on Saturday that they won’t make any deal beyond the constitution of Afghanistan.
In a ceremony commemorating Ahmad Shah Massoud’s 13th martyrdom anniversary in Kabul, Sarwar Danish told the participants that there was no alternative to a legitimate electoral process.
He stressed the need for a unity government but stated there was no need for political dealing on it.
“Unity government is a need of our country and is already mentioned in the constitution and there is no need of negotiations on it.”
“No decision even by the highest rank of government has legitimacy except the elections,” Danish noted.
Emphasizing on immediate announcement of election result, Danish warned the opponent team to avoid holding the electoral process hostage.
Also present at the event was Ahmad Zia Massoud, brother of martyred Ahmad Shah Massoud, who stated a peaceful transfer of power was the only ideal of his brother.
