The National Directorate of Security – Afghanistan’s Intelligence Agency seized 3 bikes packed with explosives in southern Helmand province of Afghanistan.
According to a statement released by NDS, the bikes were discovered and seized from Nad-e-Ali and Lashkargah city.
NDS also added that the armed-Taliban groups had prepared the explosives-laden motorbikes to carry out coordinated attack in Helmand.
According to the statement, In a separate incident in Nad-e-Ali, 4 militants were killed, 2 rifles with a motorbike and some explosives were seized.
A thief was also arrested in a separate operation in Helmand, who has been identified as Abdul Hakim, NDS added.
No armed-militant groups have commented regarding the reports yet.
Helmand is among the volatile provinces in southern Afghanistan, where armed-militant groups are actively operating.
