Afghan intelligence agency has killed a Taliban military commission chief in Logar province of Afghanistan.
The National Directorate of Security (NDS) – Afghanistan’s spy agency said the Taliban military commission chief for eastern Paktia province was killed along with three others accompanying him during a military raid in Kafir Dara village, Khoshi district of Logar province.
According to a statement released by NDS, Qari Mir Ahmad, another member of Taliban’s military commission was arrested in Charkh district of Logar province.
A large number of weapons, ammunitions, Taliban military commission stamp and military training books and pamphlets were also seized by the NDS members during the operations, the statement added.
The group has suffered heavy loss during the operations, the statement noted.
Taliban militant has not made a comment yet.
Paktia and Logar are among the volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan where anti-government insurgent groups are actively operating in a number of their districts and usually carry out insurgency attacks against the Afghan government forces.
