NAI, Harasat-Sabat Council want security for journalists ensured

Nai supporting open media in Afghanistan and Harasat sabat council demanded the Government to adopt serious measurements to ensure security for correspondents and journalists.

The following institution asked the Government to ensure security for correspondents and journalist’s security and safety then to enter the peace negotiation table with Taliban.

Harasat Sabat council spokesman Masoud Treshtwal said,” respecting,supporting and execution of freedom of speech should be prioritized by the Government,according to Afghanistan constitution article 34th freedom of speech is guarded.”

NAI officials have stated that President to act based on Wednesday pledge.

General executive of Nai supporting open media in Afghanistan Abdul Mujeeb Khalvatgar said,” we ask the Government to ensure security and safety of journalists before attending peace talks with Taliban.”

The following demand made comes after that 57 journalists have lost their life in past 14 years in Afghanistan due to ongoing war.
