Muttaqi off to Iran for consultative conference on Palestine

Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi has left for Iran to attend an international consultative conference in Tehran on Palestine, which is due to be held on Saturday.
Hafiz Zia Ahmad, deputy spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that Muttaqi, leading a delegation, headed to Iran at the invitation of the foreign minster of the neighboring country.
Iran is scheduled to hold a “Consultative Conference on Palestine” on December 23 in Tehran. The conference, which would be attended by representatives of several countries, would deliberate on the ongoing situation in Gaza.
Israel’s war in Gaza since October has killed at least 20,000 people, most of them children or women, according to Gaza authorities.
