Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) has announced of reconstructing of seven agriculture canals in the three provinces of the country for the current year.
According to officials in the ministry, the aim of reconstructing these canals is strengthening the agriculture sector and the three provinces are Kabul, Logar and Parwan.
The project costs 1.3 billion AFG which will be paid by the donor countries and will be completed by the end of the current year.
“By reconstructing these canals, more than 350,000 acres of land will be irrigated,” Ali Rustami, spokesman of MRRD said.
According to the ministry’s data, MRRD has implemented more than 19 thousand projects in agriculture and irrigation sectors in 34 provinces of the country for the past 13 years.
Officials further added that the ministry will focus more on agriculture projects in the current year.
