vlcsnap-2014-11-04-17h35m29s48Members of Parliament have called on President Muhammad Ashraf Ghani to reduce the number of Presidential advisers as he had already promised during his election campaigns.
The lawmakers stated there were too many advisers whom the government allotted a high budget and need to be reduced.
They asked President Ghani to reduce the number of advisers from 60 to only 6.
The MPs claimed that the President is yet to fulfill its commitments he made during the election campaign to cut the numbers of Presidential advisers.
They claimed that many tribal elders were allotted advisory posts in the Presidency during the government of former President Hamid Karzai in order that the elders should not be against the government.
The Wolesi Jirga members demanded only well-qualified and elite persons must be appointed as Presidential advisers and that only six persons.
The lawmakers also pointed to the issue of new cabinet, demanding the President to avoid delaying establishment of the cabinet.
