Mine Blast Kills 3 Civilians in Takhar

At least three civilians killed as a blast rocked Chah Ab district in northern Takhar province of Afghanistan on Friday.

Provincial police spokesperson Abdul Khalil Asir confirmed the incident and said,” it was a mine and exploded inside a residential house in Chah Ab district this morning, killing three civilians”.

There was no more details about how the incident has taken place, but the official added that an investigation is underway.

According to a report by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), the mission has documented about 2,181 civilian causalities in the first quarter of 2017 and the number is increasing as the security situation deteriorates in the country.
