Keep security forces out of polling areas: IEC

The Independent Election Commission (IEC) once again emphasized that security forces should not be allowed to be present inside polling stations.

Noor Muhammad Noor, spokesman of the Election Commission said, “All three Security Institutions have been asked to not be present in the area of polling stations on the Election Day.”

Officials of the IEC emphasized that all issues faced during the first round of the Presidential Election have been identified and should not be repeated.

The IEC also announced that they had initiated the process of hiring new staff to replace those who had been dismissed.

Noor Muhammad Noor added that the process of transferring electoral material from provincial centers to districts centers is also currently underway.
