Jaghatu district chief shot dead by Taliban

The armed Taliban group killed Jaghatu district chief along with his guard in Ghazni province, officials said on Thursday.

Deputy Governor of Ghazni, Muhammad Ali Ahmadi says that Jaghatu district chief, Muhammad Dawood faced Taliban ambush in Se Qala area the provincial capital and Jaghato district.

Ahmadi further added that the Taliban militants shot dead the chief district and were taken his driver.

The armed Taliban group have yet not commented regarding the issue.

Ghazni province is a strategic position for the armed Taliban and in this case they are trying to make Ghazni unsafe.

The Ghazni province is one of unsafe provinces in Afghanistan where the armed opposition members use its remote areas as a transit point for moving their supplies to other central provinces.
