The funds will be spent based on a signed tri-lateral agreement between Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), Afghan Government and the Indian Embassy in Kabul.
“As per the agreement, the Indian government will invest 1.765 Million USD for the development of cricket infrastructure in three provinces of the country namely Balkh, Kandahar and Logar provinces,” Afghansitan Cricket Board (ACB) said in a statement.
According to ACB statement, the projects under this agreement will include 1 million dollars for the construction of a stadium in Balkh Province, 360000 US Dollars for the construction of a guest house for players and officials and 400000 USD for construction of a stadium in Logar province.
The proposal for the mentioned projects was submitted earlier by ACB to the Ministry of Economics which was later approved by the Government of India in coordination with the esteemed Embassy of India in Kabul, the statement added.
This comes as the Indian Ambassador to Kabul, Manpreet Vohra on Tuesday signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with Afghan officials, pledging $31 million for the implementation of about 108 development projects in Afghanistan.
