Based on the memorandum of understanding signed between Government of Afghanistan and Hezb-i- Islami led by the Gullbuddin Hekmatyar on releasing of Hezb-i- Islami prisoners from Afghanistan’s jails, Afghan Government were supposed to release 400 other HIA prisoners two weeks.
Hezb-i- Islami Party Spokesman Hameed Azizi said, “We expect the Government of Afghanistan to release our prisoners arrested while fighting against invader countries in Afghanistan, those who are holding criminal cases should stay in.”
By releasing the Hezb-i- Islami prisoners the political parties expressed concerns saying fears are underway if the prisoners do not turn as Taliban or strengthen the Taliban ranks.
The New Afghan National Front Spokesman Sayed Jawad Husseini said, “ Earlier prisoners were released based on the solid guarantees that they will not rejoin warzones, this time we do need to have a clear guarantee documents to avoid them not to join the war again.”
London has released recently one of the Hezb-i- Islami commanders Faryadi Sarwar Zardad after years of being in jail, during an interview told to Ariana News that i m ready to respond to any claims at the courts.
Earlier Government of Afghanistan had demanded officially the United Nation Organization through Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to remove the Hezb-i- Islami and Gulbuddin Hekmatyar from the watch and black list.
