Afghan national team player Hamid Hassan’s home has been targeted by grenade attack in Jalalabad City of eastern Nangarhar province, Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) said in a statement on Tuesday.

Hassan, who has played 32 one-day internationals and 22 T20 internationals for Afghanistan national team, is said to be unhurt following the attack, which took place on Monday night.

According to ACB statement, the bomb assault was not an act of terrorism but “a criminal offense”.

Hassan’s family, they claimed, had been threatened with violence by “theft and criminal” groups demanding money over the course of recent time.

Condemning the attack, ACB urged the government to arrest the culprits involved behind that attack and ensure security of the players.
