Ghani Strongly Condemns Terror Attack In Uri

ghaniPresident Mohammad Ashraf Ghani strongly condemned the attack on an Indian army camp in Indian-administered Kashmir’s Uri and emphasized on joint actions against terrorism.

In a statement released by presidential palace said that President Ghani has saddened by the terrorist attack in the town of Uri that left 17 Indian soldiers dead and dozens of others wounded.

“Terrorism is a threat against the security and stability of the region and world and for the fighting against this common threat there is the need for a joint strategy of the region and world countries,” the statement said quoting Afghan president.

Ghani calls terrorism an “ominous phenomenon” that does not respect any religion and law and insists on a joint fight against terrorism without being distinguished as good and bad terrorism.

He also offered his condolences to the people and government of India.

At least 17 Indian soldiers and 4 militants were killed in the Uri attack on Sunday in which India blamed Pakistan.

The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed punishment for those involved behind the attack saying “those behind this attack will not go unpunished”.
