The Free and Fair Election Foundation of Afghanistan (FEFA) says that the National Unity Government (NUG) takes the Civil Society as an excuse; while there is no problem in the civil society.
A few days remain to the end of Election Reforms Commission’s work but still the selecting committee has not been formed.
FEFA declares that the origin of the disputes is the Afghan government itself that does not want the selecting committee begins to work and always marginalized.
“There is no differences among members of civil society. The government is stalling and seeks for marginalization,” said Yousuf Rashid, CEO of FEFA.
But the presidency says that the representatives that introduced by civil society have not been accepted by all.
“A number of institutions have complained that they do not accept representatives from media. We did not want this process to be controversial and give an opportunity for re-deciding,” said Meya Gul Waseq, representative of Presidential administration.
This comes as the committee is scheduled to select new members for electoral commissions.
