Excluding women from decision-making processes hinders Afghanistan’s future

(Last Updated On: )
Excluding Afghan women from decision-making processes deprives Afghanistan of any chance of emerging out of crises, the United Nations said on Sunday.
“Excluding Afghan women from decision-making not only deprives Afghanistan of any chance of emerging out of crises, it also signals that attacking women’s rights, silencing their voices & erasing them from society doesn’t just get unpunished, it becomes normalized,” UN Women Afghanistan said on X.
The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) denies such claims, saying women’s rights are ensured more than ever.
The issue of women’s rights is a major dispute between the IEA and international community, and it remains a condition for recognition of the government.
