Ex-Herat PC Member Among Four Prisoners Hanged in Pul-e-Charkhi Prison

According to Afghan authorities, Askar Anwari, an ex-member of Herat provincial council and four others were hanged today inside Pul-e-Charkhi prison of Kabul.

Mohammad Askar Anwari, a former member of Herat Provincial Council, was sentenced to death by Afghan primary, appellate and final courts. The police forces in the western Herat province had arrested him over kidnapping and murdering of Mohammad Shah Aimaq.

“The family of Askar Anwari was taken to Kabul on Wednesday’s morning and Mr.Anwari was executed before dawn along with four others,” said a close relative of Anwari.

The dead body of Mr. Anwari has been reportedly submitted to his family.
