A senior government official survived life attempt in eastern Nangarhar province on Tuesday.
The governor of Khogyani district, Haji Zalmay, was driving from Jalalabad city toward his office when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives packed vehicle in Sara Kala area of the district at around 10:30 pm this morning.
In a phone call, the governor of the district told Ariana News that he has escaped the blast unharmed while at least 2 women and 4 children were injured as the blast shattered civilian windows nearby.
Taliban accepts responsibility behind the attack, claiming that the district governor was severally injured and four of his bodyguards were killed.
Nangarhar is among the volatile provinces in east of Afghanistan where both Taliban and Daesh militant groups are active in a number of its districts and usually carrying out attacks against the Afghan forces and authorities.
