Four people were killed and two others wounded after a previously placed bomb went off in the field while local teams were playing cricket in the eastern Nangarhar province, local authorities confirmed.
“The incident took place while there was match going on between two local cricket teams in Batikot district of the province”, said Attaullah Khogyani, spokesman of Nangarhar governor.
The incident reportedly happened yesterday, February 09, at around 4:30 PM in Chahardehi area of the district.
Two university students and one school student are allegedly among the dead people.
The militant groups, mainly Taliban are using roadside bombs to target the government officials, security forces and military convoys.
However, the bomb blast have often killed and wounded civilians in different parts of the country.
