An Afghan official says Baghlan education chief, Ghulam Muhiuddin Paikan, survived an armed attack on Wednesday while one of his security guards killed and another wounded.
Ahmad Bashir Aryan, a spokesperson for Baghlan education directorate told Ariana News,” early this morning, Mr. Paikan came under the attack of irresponsible gunmen in Seelo area of Pul-e-Khomri.”
He added that one of his bodyguards was killed while another was injured in the incident.
Sources on the condition of anonymity, said the incident has occurred as a result of personnel enmity.
A police official says they are investigating the incident, but no one has been arrested in connection to the attack so far.
