Attack on hotel base in Kabul foiled, attacker arrested

The National Directorate of Security (NDS) has foiled a terrorist plot by the Haqqani network on a hotel in capital Kabul, the NDS announced on Saturday.

Afghan intelligence said a Haqqani terrorist network militant named Khalid who is also famous as Sohail was planning to attack on a hotel in Shahr-e-Naw are of Kabul using two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) controlled by mobile system was arrested by the agency operatives before reaching to his destination.

This comes as the U.S. Embassy in Kabul warned its citizens of a possible attack on the Star Hotel in Kabul City.

Recently, the Afghan intelligence agency has thwarted a number of coordinated attacks by Haqqani network in the Capital Kabul and Khost province of Afghanistan.
