Afghan analysts consider President Ghani’s visit from Shahen Corps in Mazar-e Sharif “ineffective”, citing authorities were all busy with formalities to President instead of investigating on the incident.
President Ghani visited the base attack incident in an attempt to moralize the security forces out there.
Former military official, Amarkhail told Ariananews, “The president visit to Mazar is symbolic, while everyone is eyeing for a full and immediate investigation after the attack.”
President’s spokesperson however says the incident will be assessed comprehensively.
Shah Hussain Murtazawi, President’s spokesman said, “The president has ordered the incident must be investigated fully and convincing answers must be provided.”
Politicians expect the government to prosecute a number of officials over the attack.
A provincial council member in Balkh claims the number of the causalities was in a level that the corps does not enough coffins to carry out the soldiers dead bodies.
