Pakistani interior minister in a meeting with US foreign secretary, John Kerry says ties between Afghanistan and Pakistan have never been better.
Nisar Ali Khan, Pakistani interior minister said that Afghanistan and Pakistan have a close cooperation and this is marvelous in fight against terrorism.
“I think Afghanistan and Pakistan, working in close hands and in close cooperation, it will do wonders for the cooperation in the field of counterterrorism,” Pakistani Interior Minister Nisar Ali Khan said as he met with top US diplomat John Kerry.
Khan was attending a three-day White House summit on ways to battle violent Islamic extremist groups.
“Relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan have never been better, and that is a very, very positive development.” Nisar Ali Khan added.
Simultaneously, John Kerry praised Pakistani Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif efforts for improving ties between Kabul-Islamabad.
Since the visit of new Afghan President Ashraf Ghani to Pakistan last month, both sides have reported increased economic and security cooperation to promote regional peace efforts.
The United States also acknowledges the positive trend and increased cooperation between Pakistan and Afghanistan and has promised to continue its support in bringing the two even closer to ensure regional peace.
