Afghan Police Seize Taliban’s Medical Equipment in Maidan Wardak

(Last Updated On: December 8, 2017)

Afghan National Police (ANP) has seized the medical equipment of a Taliban’s hospital in Maidan Wardak province during a military operation, officials said Friday.

“The enemies were using this hospital to treat their fighters and then they were shifting them for further medical care to our neighboring country,” Provincial Police Chief Fahim Qiam said.

The hospital was located in Dara Tangi area of Saydabad district where Taliban militants were receiving medical care after sustaining injuries in the direct fight against the Afghan security forces.

According to police, militants from Logar, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, Paktia, and Paktika provinces were receiving medical treatments in this hospital.

Rohullah Alawi, a provincial council member in Maidan Wardak, called the move as a big achievement, saying the seized equipments shows the Taliban are centralized in the province.

Officials said that from now onward these equipments would be used to treat the Afghan security forces.

“These are good equipments. We can use these machines for our police forces,” Interior Ministry deputy health director, Dr. Shinwari said.

This comes as the Afghan security forces have launched a joint clearance operation under the name of “Qahraman Kohistan” in the province which will continue during the winter season as well.
