Afghan Government increases Taxation as staggering on Sellers

Afghan Officials in Ministry of Finance has steeply increased taxation on sellers across the country.

Officials in chamber of commerce and industry criticizing the following action saying increasing of taxation on businessmen will create best plat form for spreading of corruption.

Officials in Ministry of finance claimed that decision has been made based on the taxation law.

According to the law of taxation in income each of the sellers shall be responsible to pay taxes over 600,00 Afghani to the Government.

The following taxation will be collected by the officials in Ministry of Finance each four months.

Head of the chamber of commerce and industry Khan jan Alkozai said,” reformation should be made within the law for taxation in income the recent increasing of the tax for the shopkeepers is unbearable.”

Officials in Ministry of Finance said,” According to the law in 2011 (1390) the taxation has been 40 % but for the years of 2012 and 2013 the level of taxation from 15 up to 20 percent increased.”

They have also added that every single eligible is responsible to pay taxes, ignoring the case will be a crime.

 

Finance Minister spokesman Abdul Qadir Jilani said,” we don’t have the authority to reform the law,but we also support reformation of the law for taxation, insisted that recent taxation has been made based on the law.”

Meanwhile officials in chamber of commerce and industry complained that by increasing of taxation the custom tariffs on imported goods also increased.
