The Acting Defense Minister Asadullah Khalid and the commander of NATO-led Resolute Support Mission Gen. Scott Miller visited Kandahar to review the security situation in the southern province.
The Ministry of Defense in a statement said the Acting Defense Minister Asadullah Khalid who was accompanied by U.S. commander Gen. Scott Miller attended a security meeting in 205th Atal Corps headquarters in Kandahar to review the security situation of the province and ongoing military operations in the areas which are under the responsibility of Atal Corps.
The statement also said that the Acting Defense Minister’s visit was aimed at reviewing the results of the ground operations which were conducted in the province days ago.
According to the statement, Khalid hailed the execution of operations in the province and gave necessary instruction for execution of better security plans in the future.
The Acting Defense Minister, meanwhile, assured the people that the military personnel including National Army, National Police, and Intelligence would continue their efforts to ensure a secure and stable environment for the people, the statement noted.
